It dawned on me that there are Aldrich descendants who subscribe to
this list who may have not received this notice. - David Samuelsen
Hello all Aldrich descendants!
The 2001 annual reunion of the National Aldrich Association is only
a short time away. This is a reminder for any who might be interested
inattending to make your plans now!
This will be the 38th Annual Reunion. Dates are July 20 - 22. This
will be held in Millville, MA. This is a small town near Mendon and
Uxbridge where the Aldrich Clan first settled.
Come and meet your Aldrich cousins face to face in the place where
the Aldrich Family first settled.
We will have available copies of the George Aldrich Genealogy by
A. J. Aldrich as well as a copy of the famous Aldrich Family
Genealogy by Ralph and Pearl Aldrich.
Our president, Alice Palladini has planned an interesting weekend
for all to enjoy.
Here is a copy of the official meeting notice which was sent to
all members:
July 20th- Friday- Early Bird Get Together dinner at the Cock &
Kettle, Uxbridge, Ma, at 6 PM. Guests please go to the Lounge
while awaiting other arrivals. The Officers will be there to
greet you. Anyone attending the Early Bird Get Together, dinner
please contact Pres. Alice Palladini, ASAP, so proper reservations
can be made. Thank You.

* July 21st; 9:30 AM: All members and guest attending the reunion
will proceed to St. John's Church, Parish Hall, Central St.
Millville, Ma. Directions can be picked up at the dinner Friday
Evening. This will be a genealogy workshop and get to know one
another. Please bring any genealogy papers, photos, books,
documents etc. to share with the group.
Books, genealogies, lap top databases and other material will be
on hand, also for browsing.
Morning refreshments will be provided by the NAA. Coffee, tea,
juice and donuts)
12: NOON: a light lunch, at a small fee to the attendees will
be catered.
However once again a head count is needed for ordering the
luncheon. This will be sandwiches, salads and dessert, both hot
and cold drinks will be available throughout the day. Ms Jan
Wheeler will conduct a short workshop on "using the Internet
for Genealogy Research."
Immediately following the luncheon the NAA ANNUAL MEETING will be
held. This will include a Secretary Treasurer report, discussion
of new and old business and election of Officers.
It is imperative that all NAA members and guests attend this
meeting. It probably is one of the most important ones in
several years.
The present Officers have been in tenure several years and a few
are retiring from their positions.
A choice of new Officers is always a very important issue and all
NAA members are urged to attend. This is the future of the NAA.
AFTER the meeting; Ms. Laurie Berthelette, town historian and
Pres. of the JFG Millville Historical Society will give the
group a tour of Historic and Aldrich sites in the Millville Area.
* After the tour, a light supper can be arranged at a local
restaurant, for those wishing to remain as a group a while
longer.
SUNDAY: July 22: The group will meet at Lowell's Restaurant in
Mendon, Ma. At 11:30 AM. After lunch, the group will proceed to
East Douglas Ma. To the historic Jenkes/Jenks Store on Main St.,
East Douglas, Ma.
This historic store has the original merchandise on the shelves,
appliances and numerous artifacts of an era gone by.
Douglas, Ma.; Being where many Aldrich's settled, a list of
cemeteries and locations will be available at the Jenks Store,
for group or individuals to decide to go browse and find their
ancestors and family.
This will end the 38th Annual Reunion for another year.
Please help to make the reunion plans easier for all concerned
by letting one of the Officers or The Pres. Alice tel. and
e mail above, if you are planning on attending.
Dues for the NAA is due; the fiscal year is from July to July.

We are a very small organization and our membership is
dwindling. Our future is in jeopardy. We need support from
interested people such as you all. Unless we get more members
attending this may be the end of the NAA and our 38 year reign.
