Thank you for the clarification.
What makes it confusing is when rootsweb is accessed Ancestry is along
side the rootsweb site.
It is interesting the two pop up side by side.

Ancestry.com is a private company. It has nothing to do with the LDS
Church. I believe the owner (could now be a past owner) is a member of
the LDS, but again I repeat it has nothing to do with the LDS Church.

Ancestry is a" for profit" company like many others in the United
States.
What I don't like about them is if you submit anything to them they
feel
they have a right to include your information in the company's for
sale
database without asking for your permission.

I don't have anything against Ancestry.com. I just want to make it
clear
that they do not have any official connection to the LDS Church.

The LDS Church does not charge for its services except to make copies.
Xerox copies are $.05 each, microfilm copies $.23 each (a real
bargain).
They do charge a small cost for films that are sent to the Family
History
Libaries all over the United States. I believe it is $3.00 but I'm not
positive.

The LDS Church does not allow anyone to solicate for business at the
Salt
Lake Family History Library. If you are caught or it is reported to
them
you will be banned from using the library.

I worked there for over 10 years as a part-time assisting people with
US-Canadian research problems. I no longer do that but my wife still
does
(over 15 years now). Now I spend my time helping friends who live
outside
of Salt Lake do research (for free, I might add).
