Hi Bill, I'm trying to make a connection to my Aunt, Bessie K. Coughlin,
and her mother, MY grandmother. Mary Ann McCarthy Coughlin. Bessie was
national Pres. Of the Women's Relief Corps 1957-58. She joined the Relief
Corp because her mother, Mary Ann, belonged to the Corp. Mary Ann died in
1927 and I wonder if that was when you had to have a direct relative in the
Civil War. My BIGGEST question is --do I have a relative that served in the
Civil War? Bessie was from Providence, R.I. and Mary Ann was from E.
Providence, R.I.

Can you give me any leads? Thanks in advance. Dot in Pa. where the
dogwoods are blooming to perfection.
