At the RI State Archives you will find records from 1638 up to the present.
Open to the public Monday-Friday 8:30 am - 4:30 pm

Directions
>From I-95 (north or south), take Exit 22 (the "Downtown" exit). At the end
of the exit ramp, proceed straight across the intersection onto Memorial
Boulevard. Turn right at the 4th traffic light onto Westminster Street. The
State Archives is on the right, after the third traffic light. Look for the
green awning above our first floor storefront windows. Limited validated
parking is available in the "In-Town Parking" lot located just beyond the
Archives on the right (separated by a side street).
The RI Historical Library was closed last week, not sure if they opened yet.
You should call and check first!
Hours: Wednesday and Friday, 10:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. and Thursday 12:00 noon
to 8:00 P.M. Please check back for any revision to our hours or call (401)
273-8107, ext. 10.
The library is located at 121 Hope Street, Providence, RI, 02906.
There is a $5.00 fee for out of state visitors.
The Providence Public Library has the Providence Journal Bulletin on
microfilm, you may be able to locate the obituary there. They are located
at 150 Empire St., Providence - 455-8000
