ROBERTS, Reuben 1744 Manchester, Lancashire, ENG From: "Dave Schubert"
>I am a descendant of Reuben ROBERTS who served
in the North Carolina militia & married (Mary) Milly ASHER. My sister
is in the D.A.R. with proven lineage. Here is a straight line descent:

Reuben ROBERTS (1744-1841)> Thomas Roberts (1789-1867) > Polly ROBERTS
(1830-?) > Thomas OVERTON (1850-1928) > Thomas OVERTON (1887-1969) > [
my mother]> [Dave ]. I just returned from Salt Lake City all last week
where I copied most of his records from the pension records. Milly
applied on 7 May 1838 and received $80 per year. It appears that both
she and Reuben ROBERTS were illiterate and signed with an "X" They had
12 children total. It appears various relatives have written for copies
of the records -- Lucy M. Ball of Jacksonville, Ill in 1924 and others.
I have located a book about Reuben Roberts. Your cousin Dave Schubert
