On the ROBERTSON ARCHIVES webpage at
http://www.shelby.net/shelby/jr/robertsn/archives.htm
(which also includes a lot of HEADEN links), at the very bottom, you will
find a link to the search engine of the USGenWeb archives. It has just
occurred to me that the same search syntax used for the Rootsweb mailing
list archives (not presently very useful) will work on USGenWeb archive
searches. You will find there now a link to my archive searches help page.

You can use this to "go find your own archives", and not limited to any
surname, location, or subject. You *are* limited to what has been uploaded
to USGenWeb archives for the appropriate county/state. This is why I have
encouraged that we submit our archive-type text docs to some USGenWeb site.

An example search might be to click on LA and in the query box put the
following:
tangipahoa and (haden or headen or hayden)
or in a different search
"mathew robertson"

You could click on NC and enter the following in the query box
granville and ("israel roberson" or "israel robinson") andnot "civil war"

It is kinda fun when you get the hang of it!

Please let me know if you find any good archives that are suitable for
adding to the ROBERTSON ARCHIVES page.

John
