I did ask Freda about the picture of Major David. She had not heard of it.
Also she did not know and had never seen the grave of John TPM grave, so we
did not get to see it. I hope that you do .
The old 63 apparently is also Cawood Dr. We came out on a road named
Wilson Lane or Rd. If you find it go to the end and turn back right .
There will be a rock or brick modern house and that is where Edith Carr
lived. Across the road is the old Rogers house and a David Rogers is re
doing it. They were not at home the day we were there. There are 2
mailboxes in front of the white rock house and the numbers are 5225 and 5227
Cawood Rd or Drive. There was no one at home at the white rock house. If
I remember there was not a road name where you turned up to the Beeler
Cemetery, but not very far from the Wilson drive or Rd, turn back left and
it is on a slight hill and very visable from the new hwy 63. I did not see
a sign where we turned to go to the Beeler Cemetery.
We also found just back up the road from Fredas house a fenced cemetery on
a hill in the middle of a corn field that had graves for Wells, Bowman
and 1 Rogers grave. My son took a picture of the Rogers grave.
Also we found a Ausmus-Cox-Cawood Cemetery "Established in 1800 by Benjamin
Ausmus". This cemetery is on Russell Acres road to the left coming from
LaFollette.
If someone goes to Speedwell on a week day, try and find Katherine Humflect
(sic). We had talked to a man and he said that she could help us. Being
Sunday, we did not find her.
