Hello everyone,

I wondered if it would be helpful if everyone were to have access to this
will of Thoma ROGERS of Hawkins Co. He is considered to be Thomas ROGERS,
Sr., but there was actually one other Thomas ROGERS before him, according to
the tax records. The first Thomas ROGERS was probably this Thomas, Sr.'s
father, as well as the father of Dauswell ROGERS, Sr.

The Will of Thomas Rogers of Hawkins County, Tennessee
Signed 9 September 1811

In the name of God amean I thomas Rogers of the County of hawkins & state
of Tenesee Being very sick in Body & in perfect mind & memory - Being
Given up to god Cawling unto Mind the memory of my Body & knowing that it is
appointed for all men once to die to Make & ordain this to Be My last will &
testament that is to say principly & first of all I give & Recomend My Soal
into the hand of God that Give it & my Body I Reommend to the Earth to Be
Bured in decent christal Buriel to the Disgration of my frinds Nothing
Doubting But at the General Resurrection I Shall Receive the same again By
the might Power of God & as touching Such worldly Estate where with it hath
pleased God to Bles Me in this life I Give dimis & Dispose of the same in
the following Maner & form:
first I Give Bequath to Jean My Dearly Beloved wife a sartain Brown Mare &
one Read Cow & one feather Bead & firniture to Geather with all my house hold
goods & firniture By hear to Be posest
Secondly I Give & Bequath unto my two Sons Daswel & thomas Rogers all my
lands & Building & persesions to be Equally Devided Between them the sd
Dauswel & thomas for Ever firmly to be persest By them also my still & hear
fixing &C -
thirdly I Give & Bequath unto my fore Daughters to wit Martha & Betta &
Susanna & Moley all the Remainder of my Goods & Live Stock & all Just Debts
that are owing to me after paying all Juest Debts that I owe unto the fore
above mentioned Girls By them for Ever to Be persest & I Do hereby truly
Disallow Revoke & Disunul & all other former testaments wills legacies
Bequaths & Executors By me in Eaney wise Before named willd & Bequathed
Ratifying & Confirming this & no other to be My last will & testament in
witnes whereof I have hear unto set My hand & Seal this 9 Day of September in
the year of our lord 1000 Eight hundred & aliven
