The recent exchanges on PAF have whetted my curiosity. I now have
my genealogical data stored in dbaseIII. The advantages of dbaseIII
are 1. Its speed. Data can be retrieved almost instantly. 2. The
relational facilities that allow individuals to be connected together
into families or procreation, famililies or orientation, etc.
The main disadvantage is that dbaseIII is a pain. I don't use it
enough to make it easy, and everything seems to require several
attempts, especially printing out.
I have two questions: Is PAF nearly as quick? Can one easily
transfer data from dbaseIII to PAF. The latter is very important
since I have almost 900 individuals in the database.
Thanks in advance for any wisdom.
