Bob,
I'm interested in hearing more about the OCR scanner. I've often thought
that a scanner would be nice for copying information. Most of the ads I've
seen for scanners talked only about copying graphics, nothing mentioned
about using them for text. Can you give me (us) a short description of
what hardware and software you're using, its cost and your experiences
with various types of print? I'm assuming that the OCR portion is converting
the image to ASCII text which your PC can handle in word processing.

Since this might be considered more hardware related than genealogy, you
might want to send your reply directly to me rather than post to the
entire net.

Thanks,
Ed Mertes
