Eventhough I have access to much of the NGS stuff if I took the time to log
in to ROOTS BBS in S.F., and eventhough (for me) only about 10% of the
recent postings were useful/informative/interesting, I appreciate seeing the
material.

Lighten up a bit. Every volunteer effort deserves to be treated gently, even
if you don't want it. It would be prohibitively difficult and time-consuming
for someone to describe *everything*, and who's to say what is "beneficial"? I
would only ask that the null-information postings be left out (e.g., "Hi,
Bob! Good to see you on the net. Thanks for the info on the Fooburg family!").
But even these are not completely void of information, because they at least
give you a handle to someone who's researching the Fooburgs.
Another "positive criticism": make each posting about half the size so far,
so we can bite them off in little bits. Your searching script is useful (tho
I'm not sure if I have it working right...), but I tend to read the whole
posting, since I never know when something I'm not looking for will be
useful.
