Several months ago, my parents recieved a postcard from Denver
offering them the opportunity to buy "The Registry of Isaacsons
in America" (or some such) and to subscribe to "The Isaacson
Family News." The latter was supposed to carry current news
about Isaacsons, plus information about the roots of the Isaacson
family in SCOTLAND! Being independently wealthy :-) and very
curious about this Scottish angle (as grandpa Isaacson had been
born in 1867 in Sweden, and his father was Isak Petersson, I
was unclear what connection I might have to the Scottish Isaacson
clan), I sent away for both.

The "Registry" is what I expected -- Isaacsons from American
phonebooks. It was fairly complete, in that most of the Isaacsons
I knew about were listed. It was somewhat out of date -- it
had my Texas address, and I last lived there in 1986.

The newspaper could have been interesting, if it had been as advertised.
But no, it is junk. It looks like a desk-top publishing outfit,
where they write generic articles about the McDonald family, print
it off, then do a global change to Isaacson, print it off, then do
a global change to Gwinn, print it off, etc.

Get the "Registry" if you have a use for such a thing. (I really
didn't. Most Isaacsons in America aren't related to me.)

_Are_ there Isaacsons in Scotland? Inquiring minds want to know...
