Chronology

1755 James Morgan born

1778 James married Hannah Cox

1806 Moved to Wayne Co. Ohio

1833 Jesse, Isaac and William & families moved to Porter Co. IN. Jesse
went to present day Chesterton, IN. while Isaac and William went a little
south and east of there around present day Valparaiso, IN. Morgan prairie
and Morgan township are named after them. Other of James's children settled
for a short while in Marshall Co. IN. before moving on to Iowa, Minnesota,
Oregon and Calif. Sarah Morgan Butler and husband Jonathan Butler settled
near Plymouth IN. and after Jonathan died Sarah and her son Isaac Butler
went by wagon train to Oregon. It was a 6 month trip and started in late
1852. William Morgan's first wife, Anna Blachley, died while giving birth
to Anny Morgan in 1830. Isaac Morgan and his wife raised Anny as their own.
William remarried and moved to Iowa.

Daniel Boone Connection

Daniel Boone as an adult went to Dunkard bottom to visit his
relations and went to Ohio to visit his uncles and cousins, and several
years later according to local ( northern Indiana ) folk lore he came to
that area to visit relations. Boone Grove Indiana is named for him. This
is one reason that I believe that the father of James, Hugh and William
Morgan was John Morgan who was a son of John Morgan ( brother of
Sarah Morgan Boone ). No positive connection yet though. Are there any
other researchers working this line???

Other connected lines are BAKER, BUTLER, BLACHLEY, BOONE, DILLON.
