I have a female ancestor from Pennsylvania that I've seen referred
to as Nima Miller. In the past I've assumed that it was just
sloppy handwriting or a misprint and that her given name was
Nina, but I recently came across the entry for her family in the
1860 Census and her first name is written as 'Nanima'. Has anyone
heard of this name before? Am I misreading it? Can anyone tell
me the derivation of the name? I suspect it might be German (she
married a David Zimmerman).

Thanks, Bill
