Here is what the HELP file says:
Brother's Keeper is a shareware program. After you try it out for a
while, you need to register (pay for) the program. You may have
obtained a copy from a friend or from the Internet or from a shareware
dealer. The author is not paid until you register the program. When
you register, you will receive a printed manual and a registration
number and a password and technical support from the author and
discounts on updates. The password will turn on some extra features
such as the ability to make RTF (Rich Text Format) files in the book
reports, the ability to print a 6 generation ancestor chart, to print
pictures of children on Group sheets, the ability to do a soundex
search in Word search, and the ability to print one page of a report
from the Preview screen. Also the Picture Summary report is only
available to registered users.
To register the program, pick Help from the main menu, and then pick
How to Register and fill out the registration form. Print the form
and mail or fax it to John Steed.
Note: it says, "after you try it out for a while." I say that as
soon as you've figured out how much you like it, send John Steed the
$49!!! It is more than worth it, and where else would you ever find
a friendlier "user-interface"? What other place can you think of -
maybe your next door neighbor? - that would tell you to take it, try
it "for a while", and if you like it keep it and pay me a little bit
for it and then, I'll let you have even more???
