Subject: What organization was WWB
Date: Fri, 2 Oct 1998 11:36:23 EDT
Let's try this again in hopes that a vacationer who knows the answer is back!!
While reviewing a bag of old family jewelry, I found an older pin and I would
like some help in identifying the organization or club it represents. The pin
is enamel on copper or brass, and is just over 0.75 inches in diameter. The
picture is a representation of the globe, with Europe, Africa, Asia, and
Australia in red enamel and the surrounding oceans in blue. The pin is
crisscrossed with latitude and longitude lines. At the bottom are a pair of
hands in a conventional handshake. Superimposed on the face of the pin in
large white letters is "WBW" in that order, but the two "W"s are slightly
higher than the "B". The back of the pin does not have a clasp as is common
today, but rather has a crescent shaped piece on a short pedestal, probably
for use as a lapel pin.
Seeking suggestions as to the organization represented and/or any guesses to
time period. Any help greatly appreciated.
