I recently sent off for a file for my gggrandfather's military file from
the Civil War through the National Archives (cost $10 with required
form).
I got it back yesterday after about six weeks.
My question is this. All I received was monthly muster rolls showing
where he was. It was listed as "complete file". I was hoping to get
more information such as birthdate, place, etc. I really wanted to get
death date and place. I know he got a pension. So. . .
WHERE DO I GO FOR PENSION FILE?
