Subject: Barnes Families in New York

Per family history and census records my Barnes line is supposed to be fom
N Y state. My gr grandfather and his brother were supposedly born in NY as
were their parents. I am unable to locate any sign of them there. I must
admit I have no area of birth or names of parents, but I have been told by
several people that virtually all Barnes families entered the country via
the Carolina's. Sirely this can't be so?
Yet I haven't found proof to the contrary. Any one else?
