I haven't had a-bit of luck with my search for records on my James W.
Peterson
from Copenhagen Denmark. He was supposed to have been born on Dec 1847
in Copenhagen Denmark and came to the USA in 1872. Learned his first words
of english from children playing in the streets of New York City. So I think
that he
must have came through New York City (Castle Garden.) at about the age of
24.
Was living in Indian Territory between 1895-1905. Died 1905. Cherokee
Nation.

Just learned some new information about him from my Mother this Weekend.
He served 2 years in the military before immigration to the U.S.
Appreciate any advise on how this new Military info might help me to
pinpoint
my ancestor from Copenhagen.
There were so many (Jens PETERSEN'S) (PEDERSEN'S)....Like the Smith's
here in the states!!!

Thanks...Larry Gosnell
