My grandfather actually died during the winter of 1919-20 in the flu
epidemic. This epidemic must have lasted for a couple of years. Does anyone
know if it spread westward? So far I have read on the roots list only of
those who died in 1918 in the East. My grandparents lived in Fergus Falls,
Minnesota. Grandpa Floyd Poynter was in his early 30's and left my
grandmother with 3 small children. My mother was the youngest and was only
2 months old. What an awful time that must have been for the family.
