Can anyone tell me what the term "Pennsylvania-Dutch" means.. My mother
keeps telling me my grandmother always said we were Pennsylvania-Dutch but
exactly what that is escapes me.. Thanks in advance..

Hi Jeannie,
The term "Pennsylvania Dutch" comes from Pennsylvania Deutsch and means immigrated Germans who settled in Pennsylvania. The term is kind of confusing to especially foreigners as this group of people has nothing to do with "Dutch"!
