Please note that Sutton and Salem are in quite different parts of
Massachusetts. There were, in fact, Sibleys living in Sutton from its
early days, but Sutton was not settled until after the witch craze was
over. At any rate, according to Savage, there was a Samuel Sibley in
Salem whose wife Mary was accused of witchcraft during the Salem frenzy
of 1692. However, Savage doesn't give Mary's maiden name. Felt's
Annals of Salem (vol 2, p 476) apparently includes a reference to the
trial.
