Subject: Devonshire town puzzle?
Date: Thu, 5 Aug 1999 22:02:12 EDT
I have ancestors named GOODENOUGH from the areas around Hartland and
Woolfordisworthy, Devon, England. My problem is that I recently uncovered a
page from the bible that refers to my GOODENOUGHS as from a town called,
"BRISKIT" or "RUSKIT" or "BUSKIT". I cannot seem to make out the writing.
Could anyone out there decipher what my ancestor meant and what town this
could be? I am taking it for granted that it is in Devon, but am not so sure
now. Thanks so much.
