Yesterday I received the news......
160 additional pages for $45.00

Does anyone know what information those
additional 160 pages might offer?
More than likely medical reports, since most pensions were based on being
poor (easy to prove) and/or medical conditions. But you might find isolated
bits of information, too. I received my great grandfather's handwritten
letter stating each one of his siblings' names and which were in the Civil
War with him and the fact his mother went to IL to live with a son and took
the family bible with her and she died there. Things like that.
Plus, a readout of the 1850 or 1860 census listing him with these same
siblings. The pension office found found it.
Another CW record--mostly medical, but fascinating reading since he became a
morphine addict and had brain "storms" and was early confined to a wheel
chair and developed religious delusions and abused his eldest son, things
like that--had an autobiography of his first 16 years before he joined the
army.
You may get pages and wonder why you bothered, but you could get things
really worth while.
