First Families of Rugby Tennessee

On Labor Day weekend 2000 Historic Rugby, Inc. will host a reunion for
the descendants of Thomas Hughes founder of the Rugby Colony. To help
celebrate the event a major effort is being made to gather information
on early settlers in the colony. HRI will issue a certificate
commemorating First Families of Rugby to any applicant who directly
descended from an original Rugby Colonist. The information gathered will
become a permanent part of the Rugby archives and made available to
future researchers.

Applicants that cannot prove that they directly descended from an early
settler may be eligible for the Rugby Cousins award. The only
requirement is proof of a family relationship to an original Rugby
Colonist.
