I am looking for families that may have a 'Garmoe' ancestor in their
background. This may be Ruble, Jones, McDonald, Morrison, or any others
that you may know about. I am a direct descendant of Isaac Garmoe that was
the son of the man that came to America with Lafayette during the
Revolutionary War. I have a copy of an obituary of one of Isaac's sons that
states that his grandfather was this deGarmeaux.
I have the names of his wife and children that went to Iowa in 1847 One
daughter and her husband followed about nine years later. The Garmoe name
was spelled different ways at different times in Pennyslvania and Iowa. In
the census records of 1790-1870 the name was spelled Garmo. In Iowa the
name was spelled several different ways of the children of this family.
