My great grandfather John T. Smith stated in later census records that
his mother, father, and his self were all born in South Carolina. I do
not know the names of his parents. If you are searching for Smith,
Lewis, Anderson in Polk county perhaps you might have come across some
records that might help me.

The Anderson, Lewis and Smith families lived in Polk County, Missouri at
the time of the 1840 and 1850 census. Nothing is known of these families
prior to 1840. James Lewis and daughter Emmaline moved to Johnson County,
Arkansas with John Turner and Sarah Ann Lewis Smith. They appeared in the
1860 census. The Smiths were also in the 1870 census. All of John T.
Smith's children were born in Arkansas. Prior to 1880 they moved to
Collin County, Texas.
