Subject: WATSON SURNAME
Date: Wed, 8 Mar 2000 08:24:39 -0800 (PST)
At one time my great grandparents Samuel Watson B.
1839 and Mary Deal Watson B. 1846 lived in a sod house
in the Geneva Ne. area, probably in the latter 1870's
through the 1880's. They then moved to Thayer County.
I have an old picture of 4 of the Watson boys taken at
a Geneva Ne. photography business. They looked like
cowboys. Sam Watson's had the following children:
CLINTON B. NOV. 10TH 1863, JAMES B. DEC. 21ST 1866,
JOHN B. MAY 6TH 1868, ROSETTA B. DEC. 21ST 1869,
SAMUEL JR. B. JULY 19TH 1872, FRANK B. NOV. 10TH 1874,
GRACE B. FEB. 10TH 1877, ALONZO B. FEB. 15TH 1880,
VIOLA B. MAY 14TH 1885, AND PEARL B. JULY 21ST 1887.
This family came to Ne. by way of Jackson Ohio, the
state of Ill. and finally to Ne. The kids were born in
those 3 states, as they made their way west. Samuel
and Mary Watson are buried at the Alexandria Ne. Cem.
and so is their son Alonzo Watson and his wife Lillian
Leavitt Watson. I believe Grace married a Frank
Scriven in 1892 at Fairbury Ne. later moving to Wyo.
Pearl married a man by the name of Frankforter, and
Viola may have married a Fritchie of Alexandria. I
know little else about the Samuel Watson children.
Samuels parent's names were Aaron and Sarah Watson,
coming to Ohio from Virginia. Alonzo Watson was my
grandfather, he died in 1957. Lillian my grandmother B
1883, died in 1968. Their children were LAURA
VINSONHALER, ROSELLA SANNER, ELSIE PRIESKORN, HARRY
WATSON (MY DAD), WARREN WATSON AND MARY SCOTT, WHOM
ALL WERE BORN AND RAISED AT ALEXANDRIA NE. Anyone who
knows anything about the people I have listed, I sure
would like to hear from you and try to get the missing
links put together again.
