There is a remote possibility that his remains were not recoverable. But,
there should be a memorial site for him somewhere, as I found out for our
family of WW1. Just recently we found out his name is on a tablet in
Washington, D.C. for a unit he served with. There is an organization in
France that traces missing soldiers burials places, but I do not know its
address or location.
