My great-grandmother, Katherina Kiplen or Kippling was born in Red River
Settlement, Manitoba, Canada in 1847. Her father was Peter and her
mother was Angelique Bercier, a widow when she married Peter. Does
anyone know anything about this family or about the history of the area?
I believe both Peter and Angelique were half American Indian--I don't
even know what tribe. I think perhaps Chippewa. Any information will be
very much appreciated.
