Hello, I have a Peter, 23 or 8 and Sarah MANGUS family in
Cowanshannock Twp. in 1850. They are not listed there before
or after this census year. Children Michael and Lucinda, 3 and 1

In the same county and adjoining township, Plum Creek is
the family of John MENGES, age 52 with wife, Elizabeth, age 50
and several children left at home. I believe these are likely the
parents of my Peter Menges. Peter and family removed to
possibly MO. first, then Elkhart Co.,IN. and on to Linn Co.,KS.

These two family groups have all the given names of the Menges/
Mangas/Mangus lines who migrated from Germany to Pennsylvania.
I need some help in trying to link them to their proper
line. There were many by this name in Berks and York counties.
None other in Armstrong County before 1850 to my knowledge.

Is there a Death, Will Index for this area? I hope to find out if John died
there and if a Will can be found. Can anyone familiar with
the county lead me to the best sources, please?

I admit I am only a collector of information and not a skilled Genealogist.
Thank you for any help...
