Subject: WWII Selective Service Registrations
Date: Thu, 18 May 2000 16:13:08 -0500
World War II draft registrations are available from the Selective Service
System, through the Freedom of Information Act.
The registration card shows a registrant's name, date of birth, home
address, and Selective Service Registration Number. It may include
additional information like a phone number and/or marital status.
The Privacy Act requires that you provide proof that the registrant is now
deceased; or if living, have written permission from the registrant:
>For research purposes, I seek a WW II draft classification record. As
>suggested in "The Source," I wrote to National Headquarters, Selective
>Service System, Washington, DC 20435. Letter was returned "Return to
>Sender Attempted Not Known."
