Subject: reason's for death?
I was transcribing a cemetery and found a family of 5 children that all died
in 1850 One Sept. 1,one Sept 6, One Sept 11, One Sept 12 and the last one
Sept 18, 1850. I can't help but wonder what happened to these children. The
parents aren't buried with them either. Does anyone know how you could find
out about something like this? This cemetery is full of children, I didn't
think there was a flu epidemic at this time. Dawn >>
There was an influenza epidemic and also a yellow fever epidemic in North
America in 1850 that claimed many lives. For more on the subject, go to
<http://www.usgenweb.com/researchers/epidemics.html> They cover the years
from 1657 to 1918. Your children could have had either one of these
diseases.
