<< I can donate any bible to a Genealogical Society
but I sure would rather see them in the hands of the familes >>

I transcribe yearbooks that I have purchased. I upload the text files to
both USgenweb and Rootsweb... After I index the book, I have no further
need for the yearbook...

This might be hard to believe, but I have actually had trouble finding homes
for some of the yearbooks after I am done with them....

My hope was to donate the books to the corresponding COUNTY genealogical
society.... However, I have found that 2 Oregon gene societies have told me
that their shelf space is too small to accept many additional books, and that
if I DID donate the books to them, they would most likely either Sell the
books, or Box them up and put them in Storage!!

Some of these (older) yearbooks actually have the Birth Dates & Birth
Places!!! they are such a Goldmine of info!! and I am sure folks in that
county would love to see the info and photos!! such a shame...

I have finally resorted to taking most my Oregon books to the Oregon
Historical Society in downtown Portland.... harder to access for most
visitors, but at least they wanted the books for their shelves....

PLEASE>>> If you are thinking about generously donating a precious bible to
a local Gene Society, Please ask before you donate:

IF they want it
and
WHAT they will do with it

Thanks
Pat
