I am trying to find a GGgrandfather in the Civil War records. I know he
lived in TN before the war and died in 1863 in Lawrence, MO at some
battle or skirmish. My problem is I can not for the life of me find
him. I have looked believe me. Can anyone tell me how I would find out
where he is buried if he died in MO? Would he have been buried there or
brought home? He was divorced by then and I can find no record of a 2nd
wife. I've looked in Ancestry, Genealogy.com, LDS, and a several other
Civil War sites with no luck. Any help or suggestions would be great.
His name was William Toler born 1829/30 in TN. I found him on the 1850
TN census just before he was married to Bethena Haggard in 1851.
Thanks in advance, Barbara
