one place i always look, for famous or business leaders is either Who's
Who in America (or one of the regional volumes) or Who Was Who. in this
instance Who Was Who, Vol. 7, published by St. Martin's Press, says
Conrad (Nicholson) Hilton was b. 25 dec 1887 to August Holver Hilton and
Mary Laufersweiler, m. 1925 Mary Barron, has 2 sons, one of whom is
deceased, and Conrad d. 03 jan 1979. also contained is his work history,
clubs he belonged to, books he wrote, etc. if you find him in the Who's
Who series (Marquis Publications) they usually list his parents, birth
date, wife and marriage date (if any) divorce dates of past wives,
children's names ( if any), work history, clubs(this follows the Masonic
thread we have just been having), etc. i view Who's Who as a book with
10-20,000 family group sheets in it, all alphabetized and bound together
for me. if you are doing straight line genealogy,
you may not get lucky, but if you do name studies, these volumes are
great. anyway, i hope this helps with Conrad.
