For a step by step, I would have to know which CD matering

or your CD burner.
I would advise you strongly to stay away from trying to use
CDRW (erasable CDs) because there are a lot more failure
modes involved.
Once I know what programs you are using, I can help you.
I won't say haow long I have been burning CDs but I will
tell you that my first burner cost $600 and one CDR blank cost $6
and one CDRW blank cost $25 and the fastest burn speed was 2X
