Hi LIST:

There has been recent List Traffic re. "Family Books"....... the
general consensus is the SCAM run by "Halbert's" of Bath, Ohio is in
FACT an enterprise run by persons taking advantage the desire of some
persons, to avoid the most fascinating aspect of Genealogical
Research ...... "finding a verifiable FACT on your own" !!!
'Most everyone would likewise be eager to display a "CREST"
signifying some SPECIAL aspect of their surname !! AGAIN, there are
"persons" quite EAGER to supply an ornate configuration of icons and
"motto's" designed to capture unwary individuals !!
While I DON'T WANT to be a "Wet Blanket" for those honest persons
offering LEGITIMATE Genealogical Services, I too have been approached
claiming a FAMILY CREST can be sent for ONLY $......... !!
Whereas MY personal, verified Research, DOES NOT warrant a symbol
of that nature ....... the VAST MAJORITY of my Swedish Ancestors were
"Agricultural Engineers" => FARMERS : - ) , : - ) !!. The German facet
was similar.
I do have Famous PERSONS in my Heritage (as do many persons), but I
haven't found the assignment of any CRESTS !!
(My Mother was a verified 4th Cousin to Charles Mansson Lindbergh)

I am only expressing CAUTION in buying a "CREST" !!!
