Good morning all,

If any of the Minnix families of Virginia, Kentucky, Tennessee, Texas, etc
subscribe to this list, I would like to correspond with them. I am searching
for additional information on Charles and Rachel MINNIX of Franklin County
VA (early - mid 1700s), and of their son, Daniel MINNIX, who married Mary
RUDDER in Halifax County VA, December 1821, and of Daniel and Mary's son,
John, who married Ednis TYNES in Halifax County and then moved to Campbell
County, shortly before the Civil War and lived out the rest of his life
there, after marrying a second time to a young Civil War widow, Lucy CARWILE
CLOWDIS, dying in early 1915. Lucy and John had two children, Grace, who
never married and Edward Gordon, my grandfather. Charles served in the Rev
War in MD, Daniel served in the war of 1812, and John served in the Civil
War. Any help or correspondence from anyone connected with any of these
families would be deeply appreciated. I have some gaps in knowledge, I am
attempting to fill in, for example who was Rachel before she was married to
Charles, etc.? For the record, John and Ednes spelled their first daughter,
Mary Ann's last name on her tombstone as MENIX. Also on Daniel Minnix and
Mary Rudder's marriage license, Daniel's last name is spelled - it appears 3
ways - MINNIX, MINIX, AND MENIX. Daniel, himself, when he signed his name
spelled it - MINNIX.

TIA & have a wonderful day,
Amelia MINNIX Smith
