Subject: [ROOTS-L] Note to Len
The professional genealogist that I spoke of in my previous note has written
several souce books on national, state, local, military, civil, church, land
and naturalization records. The book I purchased has been very valuable to
me. He spoke at our society meeting 20+ YEARS AGO. Considering the time
frame, what he stated was valid at the time. You evidently misunderstood
that this was years ago! He probably knew more about searching out sources
than many people ever learn, including me.
Of course everyone knew about Charlemagne, b. in 747 A.D. There is a
difference of 47 years between the birth of Charlemagne and before the 700
A.D. the speaker spoke of. I don't doubt that in this day and age, one
could trace lineages back much further.
You did not say anything about Adam and Eve. I DID! I just thought
possibly some of the readers might be interested. I have shared freely
with many correspondants over the years, so thought I would share that
little tidbit of info too.
I gave up being super-critical of opinions or statements stated by other
people about 40 years ago. Especially today, on America's birthday, we
must be thankful for our freedoms, and freedom of speech is one of the most
Hope all of you readers had a pleasant July 4th with family and friends!
