Sandie,
I would assume it relates to the Catholic belief in purgatory where you
spend time for your sins before actually entering Heaven. It is most
likely
a request to free him from purgatory in 7 years, regardless of how long he
should 'spend' there..
Question - I know that Roman Catholics believe in purgatory but I'm curious
about the other 'Orthodox' Catholics (I.e. Greek, Russian, etc.). Do they
also believe in purgatory?
