I think there are 7 states that have no state income tax. We have
state income tax here but we live near a military base and there are
families here with Texas, Oregon and Florida tags on their
cars...mostly because as members of the military, can establish
residency in those states with no state tax. All legal.

A neighbor (not in the military) though bought a 45' travel trailer,
new diesel pick-up truck and licensed both of them in Oregon because
of the tax laws....using a relative's address as his mailing address
to avoid the taxes. Not legal. And a burden on taxpayers who pay
local taxes.
