Hi,
I am trying to find my GU's listing under the name he chose during WW I so
he wouldn't be identified as German. Charles was born in 1879 in NY. Youngest
son of Annie and Friederick Gebhardt who is listed on the 1880 census in
Manhattan. In the 1900 census he is still living with his father in Manhattan.
He was an accountant who changed his name to Gerard---spelling uncertain. I
haven't been able to find him after he changed his name.
Any help appreciated!
