Correction - because my Mac evidently doesn't do
accents too well!!!
We'll try this one again.
I was taught by nuns whose order originated in
France. My English teacher was named Sr. Marie
Therese. I figure that is the way it is spelled in
French---with the accent and all.
The accent should be over the 2nd "e" in therese. It
showed up as
a "?" in my text.
T-h-e-r-e (with an accent going lower left to upper
right)-s-e
It is pronounced ter-EZ' The s sounds like a z/only
2 syllables pronounced. Accent last syllable. ( At
least that's how it came out of our American teenaged
mouths)
Hope this helps.
