Helpful?
I found a family tree with a Hannah Ferris, b ca 1763 in New Rochelle,
Westchester, NY, to Caleb Ferris (b ca 1737) and Helena Pell (1734) m John
Lecount, b 26 Dec 1762 in France. Ferris/Rose Family History
Looking into this family, the Ferris' go way back bef the revolution in NY
-- interesting family.
Sure hope this is your gang. Otherwise, we'll have to sell it to the highest
bidder <G>.

Just figured out that this is your Ben Sofield. So, know that Nellie and
David were born in NY.
Found some Lecompts in Galesburg in 1860.
I (or J) Lecompt, age 37, brick mason, born New York (ca 1823)
Augusta Lecompt, 18, born Maine
William Lecompt, 1, born Ills
We have, in 1850, a possibility, in New York
Josiah Lecompt, 28, merchant, b NY
Maria, 24, b NY
Thos, 2, b NY
In the 1860, again in Galesburg, we have
F Lecompt, 22, Teamster, b NY
Lower on the page, we may have hit paydirt:
Maria Lecount, 52, washwoman NY
Ferris, 22 (female) day labour, NY
Minerva, 18, seamstress NY
Ellen, 13, NY
Joseph, 10 NY
James 8 NY
The 1850, of Nelsonville, Putnam Co., NY has
Caleb Lecount, laborer, 48, b NY
Maria, 41, NY
Jordan, 20, mason, NY
Ferris, 12, NY (male)
Susan, 10, Ny
Minerva, 7, Ny
Ellen, 4, NY
Joseph, 1, Ny
Next door
Hannah Lecount, 87, NY
Where's the paydirt? Well, Nellie has been known to be a nickname for Ellen.
Nearby is Philander Ferris, 40, mason, b NY
Mary A 40
Elithea, 18, NY
Charles H, 15, labourer, NY
Caleb, 11 NY
Josiah, 10, NY
Amy J, 7, NY
Not that this helps a lot, I haven't found anyone since then.

I have the original marriage license of my grandparents, now both deceased.
It gives the name of my grandmother as: Lillie Dolliver Updike. Then it
gives her mother's maiden name as Nellie LeCompte. They got married in
Galesburg, IL, Knox County, Feb. 17, 1892. She was born iin 1868. I would
love to find out more about Nellie and where the Updike comes from. Her
Dad's name was David Dolliver.
