Subject: [ROOTS-L] Help with Eng./Wales BMD Marriage Index
Date: Sun, 26 Apr 2009 13:48:52 EDT
My gggrandfather, John Smith (yes, I know!) and gggrandmother, Ann(e) Egan,
were married in England around 1860. On the Eng/Wales Marriage Index, I
found both names listed for the 4th quarter (O-N-D) in 1860 in St. George
Hanover Square district. They are both in Vol. 1a, but John is listed on
p. 353,
and Ann on p. 366. Based on your experience with this resource, is there
any possibility that these two people married each other, and are perhaps
the
people I'm pursuing, or do I need to keep looking?
If this could be them, and I decide to order the marriage cert., could
someone
please let me know where I can look to find out the particulars of doing
this?
I don't know anything about John or Ann prior to their marriage, except
that
John was born in Ireland, and Ann was born in England of Irish parents.
Many thanks,
Ann in VA
