ANSWER TO BELOW:

Tina,
Not much time to check but I think I found Alice's information on Find A
Grave. LOTS of Pearce's so just looked for first initial A.

There is a listing for Alice Pearce. Birth date unknown, died May 15, 1943
and gives no burial place. Simply listed as "Civilian War Dead" Suffolk,
England.
Hope this helps a little, Gretchen

Subject: [ROOTS-L] Alice Rosa Browne, b. 1882 Norwich, Norfolk,
England
To:

Here's another puzzle, this time on the Browne side of the family:

Alice Rosa was mother to Charles Harold Pearce, born 1914 in England.
Alice Rosa supposedly married Harold William Pearce who is Charles's father but
we I can find no marriage certificate. Harold died in 1937 and Alice
registered the death as his widow, according to a relative in England who
apparently has the death certificate or some such document. Alice and Harold
lived at that time in the Wandsworth/Tooting/Hammersmith area of London.

Our relative in England, Alice's grand-daughter, has been trying to find
evidence of this marriage for ages. She called the Records Office and they
can't find it.

Questions:

1. I know some records were lost in the war-time and perhaps these have
been lost, but is there anywhere else I can try to find evidence of the
marriage?

2. I would like to find where both Alice and Harodl are buried and perhaps
get an image of their tombstones. I looked on findagrave.com with no luck.
Harold died at Hammersmith Hospital in 1937 and Alice died around 1943 (so
I am told - it was right before the end of the war). We can't find
evidence of the death either.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Tina
