Do you mean where the program is installed? Or where the data files
are stored? - "Tools" - "Options" - "Folders" then hit [F1] to see
what that is all about. Not too much there, it is sort of a Windows
thing.

the rest of the site was perfect - including transformation of the
living persons...without doing anything but a couple of ticks!

What? What are ASCII characters in your database? Most of the
characters we use are ASCII characters, so I don't know what you mean.

is there a better/preferred way?

Use the "File" - "Delete" from within the database you want to delete.

when you first try to open a new database...or a link to where it can
be changed. I found it quick enough, but someone not that familiar
with computers might have a serious challenge.

What numbers? I am a bit sleepy, so maybe I --- Oh, do you mean the
record number, Reference number or none? That could be a bit
confusing, it is also in the "Tools" - "Options" - "Database Options".
If you get there and press the [F1] key you will find a short
disertation on the use of these numbers.

Good!

one to Alfred, so I'll just say thanks a million Bruce. I think I
actually like RM better than FO....now that's hard to do <vbg>
