You didn't say what operating system you are using? Size of hard drive?
I remember a problem with some of the earlier FO versions with large hard
drives.

Can you make a backup to your hard drive or to a floppy disk? I assume
you are not choosing the disk spanning choice, which would cause problems if
you are not backing up to multiple floppies.
