When using a mono-spaced font for entering these notes, you must remember to
pick the same font and font size when you go to print the report. Otherwise,
the tables will not be aligned the same as when you entered them.

You need to use a mono-space (or fixed width) font to make columns line up
the way you describe. See http://www.webopedia.com/quick_ref/fonts.asp In
a monospace font, each character, including spaces, takes up the same amount
of space. In a proportional font (like Ariel) narrow letters (like an
"l") take up less room than wide letters (like a "w"). Spaces also take up
less space.
In RootsMagic, go to Tools-Options, Program Options-Main Screen, Note Editor
Font. Click on the button and you'll see a list of fonts installed on your
system. Pick a mono-space such as "Courier New". Now in your notes, you
can use spaces to set up columns the way you want.
